A Fellowship Trip to Remember...

Truly, great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.

After being confined to stay at our homes for many months, the Executive Committee finally got the opportunity to meet each other for real and just like any other rowdy bunch of friends, we ended up going on a small fellowship trip. Considering the pandemic situation, we did not travel very far for safety reasons and kept the interactions with the public to a minimum.

Our destination was Awissawella and a nice, cozy villa surrounded by mountains and a beautiful forest was chosen for the stay. Everyone had an amazing time playing cricket, badminton, and volleyball and a great a deal of time was spent in the pool on both days just chilling. Also, everyone had a load of fun playing card games and UNO and not to forget, sharing all those ghost stories. Had a bbq party in the evening and everyone stayed till it was passed mid night singing, talking about the Rotaract journey and reminiscing good old times. A moment that we cannot forget about this night is Rtr. Imesh’s word of wisdom to everyone and how he taught everyone to listen to their inner voice. We are forever grateful to him for all that he shared with us. Rtr. Deelaka presented everyone with an interesting problem about T-shirts😉. Apparently, there's a whole new side to T-shirts that we haven't even thought of yet and finding the proper T-shirt is an extremely difficult task.

Thanks to Rtr. Tharana, Sawan and Lavindu’s undiminishing enthusiasm, we even managed to go on a hike to the Yakahatuwa gala mountain on the second day. Rtr. Nipuni met with an unfortunate accident while on the hike and got few broken toes but other than that, all went well. Just like that, the fellowship trip ended with a lot of memories to remember for a lifetime. We can all try that this trip boosted everyone to work better in Rotaract and release all the stress that has being building inside for months due to staying indoors.
