O/L English Preparation Seminar

English for the betterment of students.

This English seminar for the O/L students of the Hindagala Sivali Maha Vidyalaya was successfully conducted by the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya with Rotaract international district 3220 “Project serve - Basic education and literacy” on 13th July 2019 with the participation of 65 students. English being an essential language in developing steps to bridge with the world and to achieve the dreams of these innocent hearts, Rotaract Club is truly pleasured in delivering the English language seminar. The students were taught with important language skills which are the keys to achieving greater heights in the G.C.E O/L Examination. A huge thanks go to all the members, resource personnel and Rotary Club of Kandy in making this event a success.

A Brief History of the Club

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. Our Senior Treasurer had been Dr Shamala Kumar all along. She is one of the main reasons the club stands proud inside the university arena. The 10th Installation Ceremony

The 10 th Installation Ceremony  of the  Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya  was held on the 13th  of September 2015 at Royal Mall, Kandy. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rtn. Vinoth Kumar as the Chief Guest , Dr Shamala Kumar as the Guest of honor ,  DRR Rtr PP Sathiyeandra Tharmakulerajasingham, Rtn PHF Yalini Jeyaseelan,Youth Service Director of the Rotary club of Kandy,  other members from the Rotary Club of Kandy and members from Rotaract clubs all over the island. After completing a year of successful projects, the outgoing president Rtr. Tharindu Malinga passed over the responsibilities for the Rotaract year 2015/ 2016 to the incoming president Rtr.Chamara Yapa and his committee.
