Green Legacy - 2019

The project Green Legacy which is organized for the 5th consecutive time altered its cause of planting plants in the Hanthana mountain range. Last year it was held in an area of Hanthana Mountain, Dunumadalawa and this year we are planning to conduct the project at the sideways of the Southern Highway(Kahathuduwa to Kottawa).  Green Legacy is a joint project organized by Rotaract Club of university of Peradeniya in collaboration with Rotaract clubs of University of Kelaniya and University of Moratuwa. This year the project was mainly focused on the sustainability of the project. Hence the members make sure that the plants will be looked after until they can grow themselves. The plants which were planted will be well looked after by the staff of the Road Development Authority. Reach For Water '19

The chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology (CKD) has emerged as a significant contributor to the burden of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in rural Sri Lanka. To reduce the risk of developing kidney disease, it is necessary to follow instructions on over the counter of medications,consumption of purified water and manage medical conditions which are very hard to do for the underprivileged and poverty stricken people in those areas. The options available to overcome this situation is to establish small treatment plants to purify groundwater, operation and maintenance or depending  on the distance water bowsers and transport water. As Rotaractors our intention is to reduce the risk of spreading kidney disease and help the people in those areas to have  better health conditions. World Down Syndrome Day Celebration

World Down Syndrome Day was celebrated by the Rotaract District 3320 Sri Lanka and Maldives, on the 7th of March, 2020, at Mahanama College. The celebration was made a success as a result of the effort of many Rotaract Clubs that joined hands to make this event a success The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya was in charge of games and entertainment stall. The entertainment tent consists of many activities like fixing a tree with fruits, hand painting, and a ball game. Each and every participant who joined with us in the games and entertainment stall received a small gift as a token of appreciation. Our tent was attracted by many participants and all the participants had a chance to display their talents to the crowd who were gathered there. Seeing them enjoying their day made us happy and at the end of the day their smiles were all that mattered.
