Sathkara Phase 4

We, the Rotaract club of university of Peradeniya launched the project “ Sathkara” with the aim of tributing the who need to be tribute in the society. As the phase 4 of the project, a celebration in Udunuwara elders home, Gelioya was organized. This celebration followed a shramadana campaign as well as donation of day to day necessary items to the elders home. At the end of the day we were able to bring a smile to the faces of the elders who were feeling left out in the world and also we made them feel that, they are not alone in this world.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
