Walk of Fame '17

"Enshrining unity"      
                                                         
With the objective of enlightening the public about Rotary, Rotaract and Interact movements for the 8th successful year, Walk of Fame ’17 was organized by Rotary Club of Kandy, Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya, Rotaract Club of Kandy and Interact Club of St. Sylvester’s College. This is organized annually in line with the Interact Week Celebration and this year it was held on 5th of November 2017.



The walk started near Arpico Super Center and ended in St. Sylvester’s College main hall. Walk of Fame’17 was a real success imprinting a lasting image of Rotary, Rotaract and Interact movements in the onlookers’ minds. The immense support and coordination of co-chairpersons of this project, Rtr. Sandani Rajapaksha and Rtr. Harith Udawaththa should be highly appreciated.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
