Tuberculosis Awareness and Mental Health Day’18
Every year 9 million
people get sick with Tuberculosis. 3 million don’t get the care they need.
On 24th of March 2018 a joint was organized with
Rotaract Club of Neptune Edification, Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Institute of
Technology, Rotaract Club of Sahas and Rotaract Club of Erode Central. Thus,
this is an international endeavor where five clubs from two countries joined
hands to do projects to raise awareness on tuberculosis focusing the World
Tuberculosis Day and make a collective impact on the society as a whole.
The project was conducted at K/Seevali Maha Vidyalaya, Kandy
in order to raise awareness about Tuberculosis. It was also aimed to guide the
grade 5 Scholarship students and their parents on how to deal with the metal
stress during exam period as is a crucial issue in Sri Lanka.
Four simultaneous projects were performed and the content
was enriched and shared among a broader audience in various ways and means.
Service extended by Rtr. Kasuni Abeykoon as the chairperson
of the project is highly appreciated by the Rotaract Club of University of
Peradeniya.
