District Council Meeting-September

The District Council Meeting for the month of September was held at the Examination hall, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya on 10th September, 2017. Rotaract Club of Kandy and Rotaract Club of Neptune Edification joined in hands with us to make this project a great success. The premise facility was arranged by the University of Peradeniya in line with the 12th Installation Ceremony. The other two clubs contributed immensely with their share. Rtr. Tharindu Pinnaduwage and Rtr. Chathurangi Edussuriya were the co-chairpersons of this project.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
