Reach for Water
The
"Reach for Water" project contained of a several phrases.
A
Charity Run , Renevation of the Waiting Room for the kidney patients at
Kakirawa Hospital and a donation of a water filter that was estimated as
beneficial for 250+ families.
Another phase of the 'Reach for Water' Project,
was held on 11th May 2017 at Sandagalpaaya Raja Maha Viharaya. The water
filter is beneficial for 250+ families in Manikkulama where the majority of the
people are suffering from kidney related diseases and unavailability of pure
water for consumption. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya
Prof. Upul Dissanayake and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Laxman Wijayaweera,
the Officer In-Charge of Kekirawa Police Station and the representatives from
Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC were present at this occasion.
Phase 2 of 'Reach
for Water' Project, Renevation of the Waiting Room for the kidney patients at
Kakirawa Hospital will be initiated as a joint project with the Rotary Club of
Kandy. This was estimated as worth for more than Rs 300,000 and will be
immensely benefited by the kidney patients as they currently face many
difficulties by standing in long queues due to not having a waiting room.
