Green Legacy 2017

 Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya, Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa and Rotaract Club of University of Kelanniya joined hands in a joint venture together with the Peter Duncan Foundation on April 1, 2017 at the Hanthana range to bring back a dying ecosystem planting over 200 plants. Project "Green Legacy 2017"is nothing less than a reforestation mission put into action for the 3rd consecutive year in marching towards a greener world and a better tomorrow.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. Our Senior Treasurer had been Dr Shamala Kumar all along. She is one of the main reasons the club stands proud inside the university arena. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
