Prathibana Day 01 - Scholarship Seminar

"Opening minds, enlightening their future"

A great community project named "Prathibana" was held on the 6th of August 2016 at the Warandiwela Maha Vidyalaya. This project was centered around grade 5 scholarship students of Galabodawatte Kanishta Vidyalaya, Sumanajothi Prathamika Vidyalaya and Warandiwela Maha Vidyalaya. They were given valuable seminars based on their scholarship, stationary items and a day full of joy and knowledge. Hats off to the great committee who organized this event and all the Rotaracters who helped out to make the day a success.

A Brief History of the Club

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. Our Senior Treasurer had been Dr Shamala Kumar all along. She is one of the main reasons the club stands proud inside the university arena. The 10th Installation Ceremony

The 10 th Installation Ceremony  of the  Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya  was held on the 13th  of September 2015 at Royal Mall, Kandy. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rtn. Vinoth Kumar as the Chief Guest , Dr Shamala Kumar as the Guest of honor ,  DRR Rtr PP Sathiyeandra Tharmakulerajasingham, Rtn PHF Yalini Jeyaseelan,Youth Service Director of the Rotary club of Kandy,  other members from the Rotary Club of Kandy and members from Rotaract clubs all over the island. After completing a year of successful projects, the outgoing president Rtr. Tharindu Malinga passed over the responsibilities for the Rotaract year 2015/ 2016 to the incoming president Rtr.Chamara Yapa and his committee.
