Happiness Hour

On the world Orphans Day 2015 (2015/11/09), the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya spent some time with kids at Singithi Orphanage, Mahaiyawa, Kandy.

This project was a done under the concept of "75 clubs in 25 districts in 15 countries in 5 continents ". The project was presented to us and to the Rotaract Club of Columbo East,Rotaract Club of  University of Colombo Faculty of Arts, Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa & Rotaract Club of Kandy from Sri Lanka by the Rotaract Club of Kishinchand Chellaram College, R.I.D 3140 .


We are extremely happy to be a part of this project. We spent few hours with those kids playing games, discussing their day today lives and problems. It was indeed "hours of happiness".
Hats off to the Project Chairperson  Gamika Surangeeth on a job well done.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
