TRR Rajans Memorial Trophy

The TRR Rajans Cricket Carnival, organized by the Rotary Club of Kandy was held for the 13th consecutive year on the 3rd of October 2015 at the Asgiriya Cricket Stadium. The rotaract club of University of peradeniya too joined in this ultimate battle of cricket and cheering. Our cricket team was able to make it to the quarter finals. Our cheering squad had much greater luck, they walked away with the trophy for the best dance team.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
