The social dancing sessions organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya were held many times during the year, when a majority of members were available from their academic work. The sessions were filled with laughter and fun! Our own members who were experts in dancing became instructors for those who were new to social dancing.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. Our Senior Treasurer had been Dr Shamala Kumar all along. She is one of the main reasons the club stands proud inside the university arena. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
