Green Dream

“Green Dream 2015”, an eco- friendly project, was held on the 18th of April, 2015 at Hanthana regions. This was a collaborative effort of Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya, Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa and Explorers’ Club of University of Peradeniya. We were able to plant more than 70 fruit plants. The objective of the project was to contribute in conserving the depleting Hanthana region. Enhancing the mutual collaboration of the clubs was undoubtedly another objective.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
