Dream Cricket

The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya was lucky enough to take part in “Dream Cricket”, a sports event organized by Rotaract Club of Colombo West and Rotaract Club of Kandy for kids with special needs on the 29th Saturday, 2014 at Greenhill International.  The game was arranged in a new version on behalf of these kids and the aim was to lend a helping hand in improving their physical response time and mobility. The organizers have gone by the scientifically proven fact that when response time is satisfactory, brain activities of these kids are also high. 









Around 10 games of cricket in different versions were arranged so that every child with special needs could take part in the game. Everybody was given medals, no matter whether they had won or lost. A DJ was set up for every participant to not miss the fun! Refreshments, lunch, T shirts and caps for these children were provided by the organizers.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
