Aurudu at Cancer Home

Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya together with the Rotaract Club of University Alumni celebrated Aurudu with cancer patients at Kandy Cancer Home on the 25th of April. Kandy Cancer Home is home to many long term cancer patients who are in need of residential treatment and do not have the finances to do so. We were glad to have been able to share some happy memories with them and donate some much needed goods.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. PP Pathum Mudannayake who was an undergraduate from the Faculty of Science. He and his committee have done a great deal to raise the club to higher levels in the district. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
