Special Needs Awareness and Advocacy Walk 2013

As an attempt to create awareness related to individuals with special needs (intellectual/learning disabilities) and to break the stigma related to such individuals the Department of Philosophy and Psychology and FRIDSRO supported by the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya join hands to organize a walk scheduled for the 7th of December, 2013 starting from the E.L.Senanayake Children's Library at 9.45 am. Cricketing legend Aravinda De Silva will be pledging his support to this noble cause with his presence at the walk and we earnestly hope that you will join us!!

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
