Our Annual Charity Work

We organized a tea party at the Psychiatric ward of the Kandy Hospital. This tea party has been one of our annual projects. The project was executed on the Vesak Poya day. There were 52 patients. We provided them with tea and snacks. The Rotaractors of RCUOP sincerely talked with them. they were also very happy because it was a change for them along with the refreshments. We were able to participate in a worthy endeavour while making the patients happy at least for a few hours. Rtr. Sanath Subasinghe and Rtr. Prasadi Boomawalage were the chair persons of the project. Their dedication was highly commendable.  Participation of the club members was also high and it was helpful to make the event successful.

         The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was chartered in 2002 and after a short period of silence, sprang up to work in 2006. The Charter President of the club is Rtr. The 44th U. S. President Barack Obama once said: "No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change."    Simply defined, the word ‘climate’ denotes the weather conditions which prevail in a specific region. It has a significant impact on the lives of plants, animals and humans which can either be positive or negative.
