The IU Project
We, the rotaractors of UOP co-hosted an IU
project with the rotaract clubs of Kandy and Matale. We had to host a team
named “Introex”. The Introex team
included Indian and Nepolian rotaractors. As a hosting club, the responsibility
of our club was to provide them with accommodation to spend the night. “Lady
Hill” guest house was reserved for accommodation.
On the 2nd
of March, 2013 the Introex team was taken to Gadaladeniya and Ambekka temples on
their way to Kandy. They were then taken to the guset house to take lunch. The
meals were provided by the RC of Kandy and RC of Matale. After lunch, the team
was taken to Kandy Trinity Chapel. Then the team was accompanied to the
university grounds. The rotaractors of UOP welcomed them cordially. A sing
along programme was also organized by our club and it made the evening more fun
and happening. All of us had fun forgetting that we were from different
countries. That moment was really jovial
and the gathering enjoyed the evening with a great deal of pleasure. Then dinner was provided and after that they
were escorted to their residence.
It was a
successful project and our director of IU, Rtr. Nuwani Ambahelagedara must be
mentioned for her dedication. All the club members were really supportive and
helpful throughout this venture. As a club, we were happy that the Introex team
was really grateful and satisfied with our hospitality.
