 Hello there everyone, As you all know, we at the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya, always try our very best to bring out the hidden skills of our beloved members through various projects. This is one of the reasons why we are blessed with such loyal and hard-working members. The project Design X was one such attempt of our Directors. "DesignX" was an online webinar series which was conducted as three separate sessions with the main target of developing the digital designing software skills of the participants. At a time where everybody is spending most of their time roaming on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, why not give them a chance to learn something new or sharpen their skills? That’s how our always-busy PR Team came up with this fantastic idea. The project was not carried out alone. Shalom

  The International Service Avenue of our club decided to organize a Christmas celebration event in a unique way to spread the message of Christmas joy while giving a stage to showcase the creative ideas of both Rotaractors and Non-Rotaractors around the world. As a result, the project 'Shalom' was initiated, and the event took place from 17th December 2020 to 13th February 2021. A competition series was organized under the theme, Christmas: The time of Sharing & Caring . The competition had several categories: essay writing, digital arts, hand-drawn arts, photography, poetry, and hand-made crafts. Rotaractors from Rotaract clubs of University of Peradeniya, Ghanshyamdas Saraf College -RID 3141, DPSRU- RID 3011, MCM DAV-RID 3080, MCKVIE-RID 3291, Indira College of Commerce and Science- RID 3131, Young Souvenirs-RID 3011 and also Non-Rotaractors participated in the competition. COVID Free Pera

The project COVID Free Pera has been happening for over 6 months in the University of Peradeniya, which houses 12, 000 students. The project managed to turn the university premises which spans over 700 hectares into a COVID controlled environment. The project grew from humble beginnings to an expansive project which contributed in many ways towards Dr. Rohantha 's brainchild: the Stop The Spread Initiative . Having started as a part of Rotary's Stop The Spread Initiative in order to further the Rotary vision of a lively society under the new normal, the project soon became the model project to test the initiatives.  The main objective of the project is making the University of Peradeniya a COVID Controlled Environment and resuming the academic activities even at the time of the pandemic.
