BITL: Before It’s Too Late - ‘Simple step to save a life’
Project BITL , organized by the Rotaract club of University of Peradeniya was a first time experience for its participants. The main purpose of the project was to bring forth the essential skills and knowledge on first aid to ensure daily safety in domestic and other surroundings specially during these harsh times where people are mostly confined to their homes and going to a hospital is somewhat restricted. The event was conducted as a webinar on 28 th of November 2020 via zoom and facebook live and it was carried out almost for 2 hours with an active engagement of more than 300 participants. Resource persons for the event were Dr.Saman Nanayakkara - consultant anaesthetist at teaching hospital Peradeniya ,Ms.Pushpa Ramyani Zoysa - National coordinator of accident services at National Hospital Sri lanka , Dr.Asela Rathnayaka - specialist in sports medicine at National Hospital Kandy.
