NOSTALGIA

Project NOSTALGIA was successfully held on 31 st May 2020 as an online session via the Zoom application. This was organized in line with the celebration of 50 years of Rotaract in Sri Lanka and the main aim was to bring back the memories of our club, creating an interactive platform with several past presidents and past executive committee members with the present Rotaractors. The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya has been active for 15 consecutive years and this was taken into account as a day to celebrate the successful journey of the club. The history of our club, starting from the chartering procedure and the steps followed, memories, visions, and difficulties faced by the past Rotaractors were discussed while giving insight as to what made the club to reach heights from the very beginning. NOX CAELO - The Wonders of the Sky

  'NOX CAELO' was a project done by the Rotaract club of University of Peradeniya in collaboration with the Foundation of Astronomical Studies and Explorations in order to develop the bond between members and strengthen their enthusiasm on night sky observation. It was held on the 27th of May, 2020 and it is one of the projects selected from the mini project season organized by our club. At the beginning, “NOX CAELO” was planned to be conducted as an outdoor night sky observation camp but unfortunately, due to the pandemic situation of the world, it was limited to an online talk and a discussion on “The wonders of the night sky” . Mr. Tharindu Rajasooriya, B.Sc. Hons. Physics Special (UOP), PhD Reading (Emory University) delivered the guest speech and conducted the discussion session based on the questions arose from the audience. The discussion was based on nearby astronomical events which were easily observable such as lunar eclipse on June 5, solar eclipse on June 21 e
